This information below is limited to Foundation scholarships; a complete list of scholarships available to SHS seniors can be found in the SHS counseling office.
Scholarships available to students in any Career Academy:
West Family Education Scholarship
West Family Education Scholarship provides two scholarships; Melvin L. & Doris E. West Scholarship for $500 and the Jeff & Laura West Scholarship for $500 available to education students in ANY career academy (BMM students that want to teach business, or CAT students that want to teach music, STS students that want to teach construction, for example).
Douglas Chappell Memorial Scholarship
Douglas Chappell Memorial Scholarship $1000.
Lieberman Family Scholarship
Lieberman Family Scholarship $500.

Scholarships available to students in Ag, Food, & Natural Resources:
Steven Green Memorial Scholarship
Steven Green Memorial Scholarship. The Steven Green Memorial Scholarship, established by Henry G. Green in honor of his son, provides $1000 per year to the recipient, renewable up to four (4) years of undergraduate study.
Kelley Bean Ag Scholarship
Kelley Bean Ag Scholarship $1500.
Grow Our Own Teacher Scholarship
Grow Our Own Teacher Scholarship was created by the Foundation with SHS to provide scholarships and incentives to education students, that they might return to SBPS for their career. See attached brochure for more information.
Para-to-Teacher Scholarship
The Para-to-Teacher Scholarship is available to any paraprofessional or classified staff member employed within the SBPS district wanting to continue their education to become a licensed teacher. See attached brochures for more information.
Virginia Hilbers
Teacher Scholarship
The Virginia Hilbers Teacher Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship available to SHS seniors who are pursuing a post-secondary degree in Education from a University or College in Nebraska.

Woodshed Culinary Arts Scholarship
The Woodshed Culinary Arts Scholarship is a $500.00 scholarship available to SHS seniors who are pursuing a post-secondary education in Culinary Arts or related field from an accredited school.
Marion Gretzinger Golden Rule Scholarship
The Marion Gretzinger Golden Rule Scholarship is available to female students pursuing a degree in Business or Music. Must be nominated by an SHS Business or Music teacher to apply.
Scholarships available for a Technical or Trade School:
Michael F. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship
Michael F. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship provides three $1000 scholarships to students attending a trade or technical school. Healthcare careers can be considered, i.e. nursing, x-ray tech, phlebotomist, etc.
Diesel Tech Scholarship
The SHS Diesel Tech Scholarship is available for students in the STS Academy who plan on attending an accredited school majoring in Diesel, Truck and Heavy Equipment Technology.
Electrical Technology Scholarship
The SHS Electrical Scholarship is available to students in the Skills & Technical Trades Academy. Must be nominated by an SHS teacher to apply.
Class of 1960
Scholarship
The Class of 1960 Scholarship is available to students pursuing a post-secondary education from an in-state Nebraska technical or trade school.
Scholarships available for Health Sciences:
The "Boomerang" Medical Scholarship is available to students in the Health Sciences Academy who are pursing a career in healthcare. The applicant must have completed a healthcare internship through Scottsbluff High School.

The Lance Stiers Memorial/Quick Care Scholarship is available to students in the Health Sciences Academy who are continuing their post-secondary education in a health or pre-med field of study.

Class of 1960 Communication, Arts, & Technology Scholarship
The Class of 1960 Communication, Arts, & Technology Scholarship is available to students pursuing a post-secondary education from an in-state Nebraska community or technical college, or university in the field of Communication, Arts, & Technology.
